Is what used to be a "medium" now a "small"' and what used to be a "large"

You mean are you getting bigger? Anyway ...

fashion now seems to favour the skinny rather than us bigger chaps. I buy
t-shirts that are XL and are tight on me. I buy jeans that are made to be
baggy, again on skinny lads, that I can only just get into. I often have to
go up a waist size or two just so I can get my legs into the jeans, then I
end up with 3/4 inches around the waist.

Sucks.

It does seem that that is the trend. But where the hell are the 50% (or
whatever it's supposed to be) of the population that are obese getting their
clobber then?

I seems to depend on the brand. Ben Sherman shirts have got bigger I recon,
but the designer shirts like YSL are still designed with the pencil neck in
mind. I can't get my arms down the sleeves of the Jeff Banks shirts and I
don't think I'm that big. When I was younger, the only thing I can get to
fit in Top Man (Top Boy more like) was the boxers and they were tight ;)

Or from a conspiracist's point of view, the bastards are making us pay more
ie Clothes are now classed as adult size for 16 year olds......(bit extreme,
but you get the idea)

yes, the clothes manufacturers are milking the TINY proportion of blokes who
bodybuild in order to swell their already massive profits.

Hi Bally,

I think you missed the point of my post, I was talking about clothes in
general. Ie It would seem that to clothes companies, bus companies etc.. you
are an adult when you turn 16. Subsequently, they can start charging more
money for their products, bus fare etc...you get the idea..no need for
sarcasm I think.

There's *never* any need for sarcasm.
(And yet its always appropriate).
